Valencia in 3 Days: The Perfect Itinerary

Kevin Cohen20 January 20268 min read

Three days is the sweet spot for Valencia. Enough to cover the essentials without rushing, with time to wander and discover your own favourite corners. Here's our tested itinerary.

Day 1: Old Town & Culture

Start your morning at Torres de Serranos (1 minute from NeoBeds). Climb to the top for a panoramic view of the city. Then walk into the Barrio del Carmen — Valencia's oldest neighbourhood is a maze of street art, medieval walls, and hidden plazas.

Stop at the IVAM (modern art museum, 10 minutes walk) before heading to the Cathedral and climbing the Miguelete bell tower (207 steps, worth every one).

Lunch at the Mercado Central — one of Europe's largest covered markets. End the afternoon at the Lonja de la Seda, a UNESCO World Heritage Gothic masterpiece right across the street.

Evening: Tapas in El Carmen. The streets around Plaza del Tossal come alive after 9 PM.

Day 2: Science, Gardens & Beach

Rent a bike and ride through the Turia Gardens (2 minutes from your door) all the way to the City of Arts and Sciences. The 9-kilometre ride through the old riverbed is one of Valencia's best experiences.

Spend the morning at the Oceanogràfic (Europe's largest aquarium) or the Science Museum. Then continue by bike to La Patacona beach for lunch at a beachfront restaurant and an afternoon in the sun.

Return via the Cabanyal neighbourhood for drinks at Bodega La Aldeana 1927 — a vintage bar with house vermouth.

Day 3: Markets, Paella & Sunset

Morning at the Mercado Central for fresh fruit and coffee at Central Bar by Ricard Camarena. Then take Bus 25 to El Palmar at the Albufera lake for authentic paella.

After lunch, take a traditional boat ride on the lake. The sunset over the Albufera is unforgettable.

Back in Valencia, spend your last evening walking through the old town, gelato in hand, taking in the city that just became your favourite in Europe.

Distances and times calculated from NeoBeds apartments.
